Meet our Lesson Instructors!

Kinsley Evans

Hi! I’m Kinsley. I am a third year at the University of Georgia. I began my swim journey at six years old on the Summer Hill Barracudas swim team, and I swam all the way through high school. I have worked at Summer Hill for five years/done lessons for three. I also coach for the Barracudas and have led several clinics. I now run lessons, lifeguarding, etc. I love doing lessons because it allows me to introduce swimming to kids and watch their love for it grow. It made such a positive impact on me, and I want to help do the same for others!

Mary Mustard

Hi! I’m Mary. I am an upcoming freshman at the University of Georgia. This will be my 4th summer as a lifeguard and lesson instructor at Summer Hill! I have coached various swim clinics over the past 3 years, as well as the Summer Hill Barracudas. I have also swam competitively through different teams for 12 years, so swimming is a huge part of my life. I love doing swim lessons because it allows me to interact with children everyday and have a positive impact on their life. I also have a huge heart for swimming and think everyone deserves to love it too. Whatever they may be, I am excited to help your child reach their swimming goals this summer!!

Ansley Ayers

Hello! My name is Ansley and I've been involved with lifeguarding for Summer Hill Recreation and instructing swim lessons for three summers now! I've also previously helped coach and give swim lessons at another facility in the past. On top of my coaching experience I have also been a competitive swimmer for 11 years, so swimming is definitely an important aspect in my life and it should be in your child's too! As an instructor I strive to help all my children reach their goals whether that be the basics, stroke techniques, or simply just confidence in the water. Hoping for an awesome summer!

Sidney Lyn

Hi! My name is Sidney, I have been working at Summer Hill for the past four years and have been teaching swim lessons for three of those years. I am a second year at Furman University, but I am from Athens/Oconee area! I have swam competitively since I was about 11 years old all the way up until my senior year of high school. I love teaching swim lessons because I believe that swimming is an essential life skill that everyone should have the opportunity to learn! Helping my lessons become confident swimmers and watching them progress and achieve their goals is incredibly rewarding. I am excited to work with you and enjoy the summer in the pool!

Emma Steger

I love working with kids, and I find teaching swimming so fun and rewarding! I have a lot of experience working with infants and toddlers, but enjoy teaching all ages!

Mattie Carlee

Hi! I’m Mattie Carlee and I’m a rising senior at North Oconee High School. I have been lifeguarding for three years now, and this is my second year doing swim lessons. My favorite part about doing swim lessons is seeing the progress that kids make and also helping them become more comfortable in the water!
